Wax , Shatter, Honeycomb? The run down on types of Dab.

Well well, someone seems to have decided to join the other stoners of the twenty first century!
Thats great, but you certainly don't wanna be left in the dark when it comes to the terminology of this amazing product. With so many people creating concentrates these days, it become pretty dizzying (no pun intended) to wrap your head around all the different products available.
The first thing that comes into play when smoking dab is the dab being smoked, so lets take a look at what we could get..

1)Wax

Wax is probably the most well known dab. It has existed for quite some time now, and was around before all the hype about concentrates started. Wax is possibly one of the simplest forms of dab. It is sticky as hell and has an opaque colouring. This is simply BHO which has been vacuum-purged to remove the remaining butane. This product is generally less good then shatter.

2)Shatter

Shatter is wax that has been taken a step further down the line of processing to give it unique qualities.
Shatter should be see through. If placed on a paper, one should be able to see whatever is written on the other side of the dab. The darker shatter is, the less well it has been purged. Shatter should snap at colder temperature (hence the name). When held for a very short period of time, it should become incredibly sticky and separate into tiny strings when pulled apart. Shatter is wax that has been 'winterized'. It has basically been passed through an alcohol purge after having been vacuum purged so as to remove any lipids that may remain. This leaves only essential oils and removes the 'waxyness'.

3)Honeycomb

Honeycomb should be significantly less expensive then shatter and less expensive then wax, because it has a lot more air in it and is generally less concentrated. Honeycomb is a better choice for those that prefer smoking more (more smoke for the same high). All in all, many prefer to go for this because they can take bigger puffs, which is what a lot of weed smokers are used too.
